March 28 - Get Jobs Job Fair

 Job seekers can meet potential employers, learn job-search strategies andattend workshops during the annual Get Jobs Job Fair in Eagan on Thursday, March 28. Employers will be recruiting for hundreds of jobs, from entry-level to professional positions at this annual event, one of the largest of its kind in the Twin Cities.


The job fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Eagan Civic Arena, 3870 Pilot Knob Road. More than 100 exhibitors are expected to participate, including businesses and organizations with job openings and educational institutions that offer training programs.


“This annual event has been highly successful in connecting job seekers with contacts that lead to employment,” said Katie Clark Sieben, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). “Last year, more than 1,700 people attended and learned about local employers and job opportunities.”


Participants will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with human resource professionals, practice their interviewing skills and network with other job seekers. Two free workshops will be offered:



  • Get in Gear for the Job Fair, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., led by Amy Lindgren, president of Prototype Career Service.


  • Tell Your Story: Preparing Your Resume, noon to 1:30 p.m., led by Sean Fetterman of Twin Cities Public Television.

Companies that will be exhibitors include Comcast, TCF Bank and UPS. 


WorkForce Centers in Burnsville, Shakopee and West St. Paul will provide free shuttle buses. Sign language interpreters will be available.


Sponsors are the Dakota and Scott County WorkForce Centers, the Dakota/Scott County Workforce Investment Board and DEED.
